Ms. Priyanka Tyagi

As Chief Executive Officer of IHD, Ms. Priyanka Tyagi leads the administrative and programme activities of the institute and also assists the Director in public affairs management and institutional development. She is also responsible for strategic communications planning, knowledge management and dissemination as well as outreach to the key stakeholders and audiences. In her role as Communication in charge of the Institute?s academic networks, Ms. Tyagi has successfully coordinated various international events at the Institute. She has been deeply involved in premier publications of IHD, such as State Human Development Report of Delhi & Mizoram, Human Development in the Global South, India Employment Reports etc.

Before joining the development communications sector, Ms. Tyagi?s previous communications engagements spanned various roles ? as a journalist and online news producer with leading National and International media channels like Zee News, Live India and Aljazeera International; as a radio host, media campaigner & activist spreading awareness about Right to Information Act 2005 in the capacity of Director of Film and Communications at Kabir, an NGO promoting RTI ; as Venue Press Manager with Press Information Bureau, Government of India for Common Wealth Games 2010, leading a team that facilitated best coverage of sporting events at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Ms. Tyagi has 12 Documentary films to her credit out of which two of her films ?Road to Chandrapura? and ?Public Distribution System: The RTI experience? were awarded the prestigious National Chitra Katha Award.

Ms. Tyagi is also a trained theatre artist from Sriram Centre for Performing Arts, New Delhi and has worked with noted names in the field. She holds an Honors degree in Economics from University of Delhi and a professional degree in television journalism.
