The University of Manchester, UK and Duke University, USA partnered with Institute for Human Development (IHD), New Delhi for the programme 'Economic and Social Upgrading in Global Production Networks and Trade'.
The project 'Capturing the Gains' undertook comparative research in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The studies looked at the effects of global production networks(GPNs) on labour, development and pro-poor growth in developing countries. Under the project, IHD was responsible for conducting research on mobile telecom and tourism in Asia.
