The Institute for Human Development (IHD), International Labour Organisation (ILO), and the Southern Centre for Inequality Studies, Wits University, South Africa, in collaboration with NITI Aayog, Government of India, organized a three-day International Conference on "New Technologies and the Future of Work in the Global South" during 17-19 July 2023 at India International Centre, New Delhi. IHD is celebrating 25 years of its founding this year. This Conference was a part of its Silver jubilee activities and events.

The conference aimed to address some important issues and concerns in the wake of technological change and emerging forms of work, which have significant implications for the future of work and for workers. Apart from academics, scholars, and experts from policymaking, civil society, industry, worker's organizations, and international organizations contributed to the deliberations of the three-day Conference.
