Prashant Kumar Singh is an Associate Fellow in the Population, Health and Nutrition Research Programme (PHN-RP) at the Institute for Human Development. His research interests are social and spatial epidemiology, maternal and child health, social determinants of health, and multilevel modelling in health research. Under the PHN-RP, he is involved in the conceptualization, design and execution of research studies concerning the broad themes of strengthening health systems, service delivery models, and maternal, newborn and child health and nutrition. Dr. Singh has published several peer reviewed articles, opinion pieces and commentaries in reputed journals on various dimensions of maternal and child health and mortality in India, and other low-and-middle income countries. He was part of the first national "Youth in India: Situation and Needs 2006-07" study jointly conducted by International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), and the Population Council. Dr. Singh is also part of the expert group on Facility Based Deliveries in Asia and Africa proposed by University of California, and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
