Dr. Akhilesh K. Sharma is a Associate Fellow at Institute for Human Development (IHD) since October 2014. Previously, he has been affiliated with Institute of Economic Growth (IEG) since 2011 at various positions - TTI Fellow, Fellow, and Senior Research Analyst. At IEG, he has worked on estimation of elasticity of substitution and construction of social accounting matrix for India. Recently he is working on impacts of social protection programmes in general equilibrium framework.
Dr. Sharma has obtained his doctoral degree from Banaras Hindu University. He has diversified research interests. His areas of research interest are institutional economics, industrial economics, foreign direct investment, developmental economics and macroeconomic modeling. He has various national international publications in these areas.
Dr. Sharma has achieved international award in the category of young scholars from Alfred Nobel Charity Fund in 2011. He has achieved Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Doctoral Fellowship during his Ph.D.
